John McCain has the gall to question Obama's credibility

John McCain has the habit of making statements calling into question the fact the Barack Obama has failed to serve his country and that he has no foreign policy experience. So why not take on these questions Mr. McCain has been invoking and see if they have any validity.

By doing a little basic math we find that Barack Obama graduated from high school in 1979. As the Vietnam war had ended in 1973 with the American withdrawl of troops occurring on that date there isn’t much Barack could have done there. However he could have served and taken part in the laughable invasion of say Grenada or maybe the US invasion of Panama after Noriega was no longer of use to the government anymore.

However he chose not to, so what is the big deal here about Barack’s military service?

Now in the interest of being fair let’s look at some other former presidential canidates and look into their lack of military careers.

There is Rudy Guilian who was twice eligible for the draft, however he was a rich kid who got defferments for attending law school and working for a federal judge.

Mitt Romney got his deferment for serving as a missionary in France and even after this period he was eligible again but was not selected.

Of course who could forget Fred Thompson well he was married and had a child so he was exempt. So we now have these individuals who could have served our country but choose not to for various reasons the least of which was they were rich white kids who didn’t want to die in a needless war.

We could also look at our alcholic possibly cocaine sniffing current president, no he got his daddy to take care of him and get him stationed far from any war with the air national guard even though he wasn’t there very often.

There is also the creme of the crop Dick Cheney, man this guy did everything he could to avoid Vietnam although throughout his career he has been a war-hawk who wants to invade anything that will make him or Haliburton rich.

In his own words our current Vice President and former Defense Secretary stated, “”I had other priorities in the ’60s than military service.”

To start off Cheney received four 2-S draft deferments – granted to students – from 1963 through 1965 while he was a student at the University of Wyoming. Then after he was again eligible for the draft he conviently got married to Lynn which at the time effectively banned him from the draft via the current legislation.

That bought him a little more time, right up until the government said only married men with children could avoid the war.

Here is how it goes in a timeline which has been reported:

Oct. 26, 1965: The Selective Service declares that married men without children, who were previously exempted from the draft, will now be called up. Married men with children remain exempt.

Jan. 19, 1966: The Selective Service reclassifies Dick Cheney 3-A, “deferred from military service because service would cause hardship upon his family,” because his wife is pregnant with their first child.

July 28, 1966: Elizabeth Cheney is born.

So exactly nine months and two days after the Selective Service publicly revoked its policy of not drafting childless men. Good old Dick Cheney has a child and avoids the war going on to be a war mongering devil who will no doubt rot in hell for all the chaos and destruction he has wrought upon the world.

Now Dick doesn’t have any problems sending off other peoples children to die in needless fabricated wars, he just doesnt’ want to do it himself.

Now Mr. McCain are there any historical facts that show Mr. Obama took any of the measures that these previously mentioned war hawks took to avoid the war, NO. During the time in which Barack could have served his country he wasn’t really needed and no one in their right mind would even think of calling Mr. Obama’s patriotism into question.

Well maybe someone who recieved preferential treatment in the armed forces because of his name like well let’s just say it John Mccain. Yes John McCain was a former Naval aviator who after crashing his 5th plane was held for 5½ years in a North Vietnamese prison.

Let’s start with the fact that his father and grandfather were four-star admirals so maybe John had some preferential treatment by the Naval department.

Despite having graduated in the bottom 1 percent of his Annapolis class John McCain was offered, almost magically the chance to become a coveted aircraft carrier pilot. He graduated in the bottom of his class yet he was offered a top spot which was unheard of even to this day, that is unless your daddy and grandfather were four star admirals.

Even after he got to flight school his record was abysmal even the Navy could only go so far with their favoritism he was given the low end yet dependable Douglas A-4 Skyhawk to fly.

You see the Navy was not about to entrust him with one of the newer Phantoms or Crusaders, I mean this academically challenged plane crashing individual just couldn’t be trusted in a hotrod.

No fighter squadrons for John just keep him flying no matter what the cost and costs there would be like the USS Forestal fire incident in 1967 where Johnny was serving unfortunately for the 167 sailors who lost their lives that day.

Here are some facts from the sailors and crewman from that fateful day:

Surviving crewmen and those who investigated the Forrestal fire case reported that McCain deliberately ‘wet-started’ his A-4E Skyhawk to shake up the guy in the F-4 Phantom behind his A-4.

‘Wet-starts’, done either deliberately (the starter motor switch allowed kerosene to pool in the engine and give a wet start) or accidentally, shoot a large flame from the tail of the aircraft. In McCain’s case, the ‘wet-start’ ‘cooked off’ and launched the M34 Zuni rocket from the rear F-4 that punctured the Skyhawk’s fuel tank, knocked the M-65 1000 lb. bomb off it’s 500 lb. rated mount, and touched off the explosions and massive fire.

The F-4 pilot was reportedly killed in the conflagration, along with 167 of his fellow Forrestal shipmates (including those who died later from wounds suffered).

‘Wet starting’ was a common practice among young ‘hot-dog’ pilots. McCain was quickly (they were still counting the Forrestal dead) transferred to the USS Oriskany (the only Forrestal crewman to be immediately transferred).

Yet John McCain has the unmitigated gall into question Barack Obama’s lack of military experience, lets face it the Navy would have been better off if John McCain had never served and alot of sailors might still be alive today. Yes he was injured after crashing another plane and did serve 5½ years in a North Vietnamese prison, however because of his name his captors treated him with kid gloves because of his political connections back home in the United States.

But still how can Johnny and all these other right wing political hacks question Barack Obama and the fact he did not serve in the military.

Barack did not attempt to evade the draft or use his family name to get preferential treatment by the military like Johnny nor would he have been treated like a foreign dignitary like John McCain had he been able to serve during Vietnam and somehow have been such a poor pilot to crash 5 airplanes like good old (I stress the word old and feeble) John McCain.

Barack also didn’t ditch his first wife so he could marry into money with a second and further his political career like his opponent John McCain.

So John McCain quit throwing stones about Barack Obama and his military service and questioning his so-called lack of foreign policy knowledge. Barack made it on his own let’s face it his childhood was not exactly the easiest thing for him to have gone through yet he made it. He was not a privlidged frat boy with political connections who glided through life riding on his family name.

Remeber that this insightful man was against the Iraq debacle which you John McCain supported so I for one would rather have President who will do what is best for this country and it’s citizens and not manufacture a reason to attack another nation just to get at their oil and fufill a quest to democratize the Middle East.

So John just get back to the issues at hand like getting the country back on track after George W Bush has almost destroyed it and whatever goodwill we had with the other nations on this planet.

I would rather have a competent level header of our nation like Barack Obama who has made it on his own without using his family clout and marrying into money to further his goals like Mr. McCain.

If this election is about character than Barack Obama has already won for you Mr. McCain have shown from your history that your character can be bought by the highest bidder and you will use whatever political or moneyed connections you can muster to further your so-called career.

You Mr. McCain are an oppurtunist who would further damage and erode what little is left of the American experience. Barack Obama on the other hand can help to rebuild nation with the world at large and the citizens who reside within it.
